Camping Montenegro right by the sea
Campsite Utjeha
In the very south of Montenegro, right by the sea, you will find the small, family-run Utjeha campsite. Camping under olive trees, with the beach right in front of you - it doesn't get much more summery than this. The campsite has all the essentials: sanitary facilities, WiFi and electricity are available, and you can also hire a barbecue. There are shops and restaurants close to the campsite, and gourmets can buy homemade ajvar and olive oil from the owner. There is also a children's playground for young travellers. You can also hire watercraft or bicycles for excursions in the surrounding area.
Budva and the beaches in the region, such as Jaz Beach, are popular excursion destinations in Montenegro. The campsite is located directly behind the Jaz Beach promenade Apartmani Kunjic. Thanks to the sanitary facilities (although you will need to bring your own toilet paper), electricity, washing machine and WiFi, the most important campsite amenities are covered here too, and you could hardly be closer to the coast.
Restella Camp
A 25-minute walk separates the Restella campsite from the nearest beach. Although this campsite is not located directly on the water, it scores points for its great views, private bathrooms on each pitch, a communal kitchen and lovely spots to relax under the olive trees. You also have more peace and quiet here than at campsites directly on the beaches. A very special gem on our list!
Camper Stop XL Montenegro
Also close to Budva and Jaz Beach, but a little further away from the beach, you can stay on the grounds of the Camper Stop XL Montenegro. The most important things you need can be found at the campsite or in the immediate vicinity, and you can hire bikes for excursions directly at the campsite and get advice directly from the operators. The campsite is also particularly suitable for larger vehicles.
Car Camp Vranjina is the right place for those who simply want to relax in nature. This small campsite is located on a side arm of Lake Skadar and has the most important basic campsite facilities - i.e. sanitary facilities, spacious pitches in the sun and shade, a washing machine and electricity. You can buy cold drinks at the campsite itself, and there are two restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook for yourself. The nearest shops are a little further away in the country's capital, Podgorica. A special highlight during your stay here is the boat tour across the lake offered by the owner.
Camping in the mountains
Car Camp Kod Boce
Is the sea too busy for you and would you rather be in the mountains than on the beach anyway? Then this is Car Camp Kod Boce near Durmitor National Park might be just the right campsite for you. The location is ideal for excursions into the (very worth seeing) national park, and the campsite has very good ratings. You can park your campervan either on the grass or on gravel, and there are sanitary facilities, WiFi and a kitchen with all the necessary equipment.
Campsite Oaza Lipa
Last but not least, we have another recommendation for camping holidays in the mountains of Montenegro. The Oaza campsite near the Lipa Cave is the crowning glory of our favourite campsites in the country. In addition to the usual facilities (sanitary facilities, electricity and WiFi), you can expect great views, good food (handy, as the nearest supermarket is unfortunately a little further away) and homemade liqueurs and wine. The site is more suitable for smaller vehicles, as otherwise it can be a little difficult to get there.
