The infection situation in the rest of Europe has become much worse. Nevertheless, tourist travel by camper is possible in many countries and regions. Unfortunately, the pandemic has not yet been defeated and more and more hotspots are emerging where greater restrictions then apply.

Information from the RKI: Case numbers in Germany

And what is the situation in Europe?

Incidences have continued to rise in many European countries. Many regions are therefore classified as risk areas, which means that testing and quarantine are possible when returning to Germany. Currently, these often also apply to fully vaccinated persons and to persons who have demonstrably recovered from COVID-19 in the last six months.

 7-day incidence in European countries

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) defines two types of risk areas. This determines the rules regarding testing and quarantine when returning to Germany. Currently, all persons over 6 years of age require a vaccination test or proof of recovery.

The vacation country is a high-risk area

Anyone entering from a high-incidence area requires a negative test result upon entry into Germany. This must be presented to the responsible authority upon entry or during a police check. After entry, he/she must immediately enter quarantine and isolate himself/herself for a period of 10 days. Early termination of quarantine by a negative test is possible at the earliest on the fifth day after entry.

The testing and quarantine requirement upon return is waived for recovered persons and those who have been fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination or survived infection must also be uploaded to the entry portal of the Federal Republic Germany for this purpose. In this context, travelers are considered vaccinated if their second vaccination took place at least 14 days ago. Travelers whose Corona infection occurred at least 28 days and not more than six months ago are considered to have recovered.

The vacation country is a virus variant area

Anyone traveling from a virus variant area requires a negative test result upon entry into Germany. This must be presented to the responsible authority upon entry or during a police check. After entry, the person must immediately enter quarantine and be isolated for a period of 14 days. An early termination of the quarantine is not possible. This regulation also applies to convalescents and fully vaccinated persons.

Currently, no country in Europe is virus variant area.

The vacation country is not a risk area

Then notification, testing and quarantine obligations do not apply.
